Origin: Created (allegedly) by The Man Who Wasn't There
They call him "The Man Who Wasn't There", because no one's managed to catch or even see him for the last 70 years, but certain similarities in his work give away his creations. Since WWII, he's been working for the highest bidder; first the Nazis, then the USSR, then the Valentine Corporation. Always in the pursuit of the same goal: transforming people into weapons.
The Utahraptor project was abandoned for reasons unknown, but three experiments finally emerged from the lab; two of them made themselves scarce, but the third one took refuge in Salt Lake City, where the Elites were soon summoned to catch a terrifying serial killer that the media nicknamed the SLC Punk. Was Unit Gamma the Punk herself? Her thoughts were so chaotic at the time that even she no longer knows; all she knows is that it was White Lyon who said that "no one is irredeemable", and another Elite known as O-Part, a living mythical artifact of ancient Greece, volunteered for the dangerous job of rehabilitating this lost, frightened, tiny monster.
With O-Part's help, UUΓ gained a measure of stability; her head now permanently occupies a control helmet that keeps her from destroying everything around her with her deadly shock waves. She also learned to channel her fear and distrust of just about everything into positive channels-- she no longer hurts her friends except through her exceptionally cutting sarcasm. O-Part is her best friend and the one person she trusts more than anything... which is why it was so devastating for Provo when O-Part was betrayed by her evil sister A-Part, and her body destroyed. All hope was not lost, though, for Provo soon found herself to the new home for O-Part's soul; this would prove to be the ultimate test of her humanity, as a creature created to do nothing but kill, must now create life instead.
